Rally in DC on August 10

excerpts from a report by David Swanson. August 9, 2005

Cindy Sheehan is waiting for George Bush to come out of his Crawford, Texas, home to explain what is the "noble cause" her son died for! She has been holding a vigil outside the Bush ranch since Saturday, August 6, to demand an explanation and to insist that the only way to honor the sacrifices of the veterans is to bring the troops home NOW!

Please join the Hip Hop Caucus, Clergy and Laity Concerned about Iraq, Code Pink, Progressive Democrats of America, United for Peace and Justice, UP (United Progressives) for Democracy, and other allies:

MEET WITH CINDY! Rally: Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Press Conference: 10 a.m. March and Rally: 5:30 p.m. Lafayette Park 16th Street & H Street, Washington, D.C.

March to the White House -- bring national attention to the President's refusal to provide answers to the mother of a fallen soldier.

Join Reverend Lennox Yearwood, leader of the Hip Hop Caucus and former U.S. Air Force officer, as he calls on the President to talk to Cindy Sheehan. "It's a tragedy and disgrace for Bush not to talk to a mother who has lost her son in this unjust war."

Rev. Osagyefo Uhuru Sekou, National Coordinator, Clergy and Laity Concerned about Iraq sends this message to George Bush: "Mr. President, if you will not listen to the millions of voices who have cried out against this immoral engagement in Iraq, we pray that you will hear the eleqouence of a mother's tears."

Come support Cindy Sheehan of Gold Star Families for Peace, Veterans for Peace, Military Families Speak out, Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), Code Pink and Crawford Peace House as they continue their vigil outside the Bush ranch. Demand answers at George Bush's workplace -- insist that he TALK TO CINDY!
