excerpts from a report by Scott Galindez. August 11, 2005

8:36 AM: After hearing Reverend Johnson of the SCLC talk about issuing a national call to join the vigil, I decided to stay until at least Sunday. I understand my friend Will's concerns about this historic event growing too big, but I believe that Cindy has already attracted a core of supporters and volunteers that will not allow their message to change or be expanded.

Cindy would love to see this continue to grow.

I have been involved in many organizing efforts over the years. There is something special about this one and everyone should experience this. If you have a chance to get here and spend a few hours, a few days or weeks, it will be an experience you will never forget...

9:21 AM: Just before I left Camp Casey last night, there was a meeting to prepare for today. One of the highlights may come when the President has to make a trip down the road to another ranch for a fundraiser. There are plans for some people to march down the road to rally in front of the gate to the fundraiser. Stay tuned for more details.

10:55 AM: The Bush motorcade is expected to pass Camp Casey at noon. The secret service is securing the area. All is calm and everyone is cooperating with the police to make sure that there is no conflict.

11:30 AM: Bush's motorcade went directly past us at 11:15, the crowd chanted peacefully.

1:30 PM: At 1:25 the motorcade returned from the fundraiser and the crowd chanted "Meet with Cindy!"
